    <The Eminence in Shadow> - Volume 7

    My patience for an official translation broke down and I finally dove into a fan translation of volume 7 of TEIS this past week. Overall, it was great and I had a hell of a lot of fun. Like basically every other arc in TEIS, Cid takes on a new persona/disguise and acts out some contrived chuuni fantasy of his. This is one of my favorites he has done so far and the climax near the end of the volume has me really excited to see it portrayed in the anime eventually. One main difference compared to past LN volumes is that this arc is not done yet. Every other LN volume for the series wraps up an arc by the time the volume ends. So, that is a bit of a change, but hopefully it means the author doesn’t take almost three years to finish writing the next volume.

    The manga is currently about halfway through adapting Volume 7, so I think we are going to run into a situation again where the manga will run out of source material to adapt. I will be curious to see what they do this time. Last time, it started adapting volume 7 before the official release. So, it was an interesting state where the manga was the furthest along in the story. With no date yet announced for volume 8, I think it is more likely that the manga will go on hiatus.

    <TsukiMichi: Moonlit Fantasy> - Volume 20

    I have read the latest TsukiMichi. It looks like it has now caught up to the Japanese releases.

    Things are building and getting busy, there’s about 5 different things going on at the same time at the moment. Threads are also being connected between the different parts with loops back to the very beginning.

      I couldn’t find a series with the name “TsukiMichi: Moonlit Fantasy”. Maybe you should write it and send a copy to my library. In fact, I think this is a great idea and you absolutely should do so. Right now. Chop chop.

    <By the Grace of the Gods> - Volume 18 by Roy - ★★★½☆, 126 MynePages™ - Comfy volume about nothing in particular. I like those filler volumes where time just melts away reading them.

    <Secrets of the Silent Witch> - Volume 8 by Matsuri Isora and Nanna Fujimi - ★★★☆☆, 165 MynePages™ - A big chunk of the story was from a different POV and a slog to wade through. It should have shown the motivation of a main character but just made him look stupid in my eyes, even though he’s supposed to be a genius. Honestly, I feel like showing his motivation in the POV made the entire story weaker. It’s such a brain-dead reason that I just can’t take that character seriously anymore.
