The reason it took so long is because I was trying to install it on a shitty macbook from like 2012 but I managed it and tommorow I am gonna start working on actually using it

    I’ll be interested in your experience. I’ve taken several runs at using nixos for servers and haven’t had great experience with it.

    Each time I think, “nixos might be perfect for this”, I end up hitting a configuration wall that’s a deal breaker.

    I’m not trashing nixos. Just haven’t been able to get it to work for me yet.

      I tend to swap what OS I run fully about every 6 months because I get tired of my current run but because it is a fully new to me system and I have been too busy to stay in practice on my Linux handling I decided to put it on a laptop first just to try it out

    I’m an Arch user, through and through. However, NixOS definitely intrigued me since I first learned of it.

    I took an old laptop today. I installed it. I even installed a few packages, and I learned how to rebuild along with that. Along with test and switch parameters.

    I even switched to Zen kernel. And learned to extend the base configuration to other Nix files with imports.

    i know, all basic stuff. Now to learn a bit more tomorrow.
