Very cool idea! Going with the Coyote theme maybe name it Wile E?

The maintainer says they have “a series of steering documents I generated that does cybersecurity checks and provides additional hardening” and “Note I also work in cybersecurity.”
Yeah, that’s a big no. No one ‘generates’ ‘steering documents’. No one I would take seriously, anyway.
One more thing - the project’s README has a “Support - Building My Daughter’s Future” section soliciting donations.
Yuck.

Stoats are awesome.

Coffee. Black. Do it.

This is awesome

I’ve also used it in a hacky script pipeline to bulk download podcast episodes with yt-dlp, create searchable transcripts, and scrub ads by having an LLM sniff out timestamps to cut with ffmpeg.
This is genius. Could you appify this and I’ll pay you in real or pretend currency as you prefer
I’ve found it great for DMing TTRPGs — simply record your session with a conference mic, run a transcript with WhisperX, and pass the output to a long-context LLM for easy session summaries. It’s a great way to avoid slowing down the game by taking notes on minor events and NPCs.
Okay that’s just crazy. ;)

I don’t know that Google gets to log your access in that scenario, Plex is just using their login system.
What

All of my less tech literate friends are getting a warning to abandon their computers entirely.

So you don’t do a lot of tech support. Nice.

Hilarious and pathetic.
Like Brexit.
Namecheap
Yeah, but also would be interested in how you put it together.

It happens with anyone. Bots track expirations and snatch them so that they can ransom them back to you for thousands - exactly as in OPs example.
AUTO RENEW. Auto-renew. Auto-renew is the way. The solution to this problem is Auto-renew.

Cool, thanks for the link!

If microsoft made 22 billion of profit in three months, that’s 88 billion a year, so they donated 0.001% to rust.
But hey, a million bucks is a million bucks.

Sir, this is a Wendy’s
For the battery issue there appears to be a good source & various answers at this stackexchange thread.

Most registrars offer whois privacy protection which is a randomized forwarder, so if someone emails the contact it can get to you but none of your information is shown. Usually about $2 a year, don’t forget to auto-renew it.
Namecheap usually adds it for free for the initial registration period.

Ah, so nothing. I figured, which is why I didn’t click.
Depends on how retro you’re talking. My Atari is sadly DOA but i don’t have the time to make it a project, but my $1500-on-release apple slaptop that i dug out of e-recycling, with a core 2 duo is fairly plug-n-play for whatever docker can provide.
Not that I do that either . . . That’s what the raspbi was for . . .
Edit: essentially I guess I’m saying if it can run some kinda *nix then maybe.
