I think your solution is a ‘declarative operating system’, where you just have a config file and the system builds it-self from that. You can decide if the system is locked to certain versions if you like. I know of Guix and NixOs, but maybe others exists. Alternatively an external scripting solution.

You still need to backup valuable local user data oc.

This is/was what Pandora.com did, and the solution was to run a small proxy that directed the exact login url through Tor with a Merican endpoint while stream was normal, but you can just select an EU/UK endpoint instead.

I used a Tor proxy - privoxy, I think - from the openwrt package repo, but others exist, and for other platforms…

Not 100% on what ‘stack-based’ means here, but if ‘stacking’ = ‘tiering’, you could use a normal filesystem like bcachefs that have tiered storage ?

You can declare different tier devices for speed, availability or what you prefer, and have different compression, managed cache, auto-move hot data from cold storage, cold data to cold storage, and what not…

However, I’ve never actually tried it, so I’m likely exaggerating the possibilities. I think ZFS have tiering too, but maybe a filesystem specialist can chime in with some advice.

Alternatively, if it doesn’t bother you, it could be a great task for a sota ai, to help/create/setup a simple fuse fs for your needs.

You should look into why so many people isn’t angry at Russia and are now blaming US. They simply create a lynchmob - an echo-chamber - where people won’t listen to counter points bco anger. It works.

No, not much, but a happy smiling selfie is seriously not a bad idea!

When we smile to our selves once a day in front of a mirror, we tend to mimic that emotion so we can manipulate our own mood in a deliberate feedback. (There are papers on it).

That is hard to habituate for some of us, so having a smiling selfie on your desktop will continuously nudge you towards …a happier mood than otherwise. …in theory at least ;-)

Not helping here, but I heard a guy with Guix did that. Guix just builds a profile with the extra desktop parts, run it in a local container if you want and add that profile to the local software stack. Not a vm but maybe you don’t need it ? Both the system, home and the desktop profile are declarative, so very mobile. I think he had his DE user profile remote also, so extremely minimal/air-gapped and stable solution with almost zero local data: system, home, desktop-profile, remote user profile (ldap etc).

In declarative operating systems, you describe what you want, and the system builds it for you. Your whole system configuration is a few files of std code (learning experience ;). Personally, I’m done with the usual monolithic distros. They are too error prone for my taste, and not really moving with the dev flow of operating systems imho.

I a year you might have an agent to manage them all. They could be edge devices, or different nodes in your/your ai’s work flow. Don’t get rid of them unless you hate AI, or for good causes.

I have a few super old phones/tablets I didn’t threw out for some reason. IF termux can be installed, does the Android version mean anything for the running services ? My latest Android device is version 7.
